A few ways Google personalizes results:

  • Moves things you've viewed before up in results
  • By using your search data to Personalize Ads on many websites
  • Results personalization can also come from Google plus, and friends in your GMAIL
  • Uses your current location to personalize

WHO CAN SEE MY STUFF
Future Posts: Make sure it is not Everyone.  Friends should be fine.  You can get more specific if you like.
Activity Log: Helps you quickly locate photos you are tagged in and remove yourself if needed.  In the photo, go to Options, Remove Tag.
View As: Very helpful, can see how your timeline appears to others.
WHO CAN CONTACT ME
Choose who can send friend requests.
HOW DO I STOP SOMEONE FROM BOTHERING ME
You can block people.
SEE MORE SETTINGS
Security:  Change your name, password, nickname, etc.
Privacy:  Let's you restrict things like who can see your posts and who can Contact you.  Turn off Search Engines to remove your Facebook profile from Google.  
Timeline and Tagging Settings: 
Blocking: Block apps, users, invites, etc.
