Study Carrel Rules

The following guidelines are implemented in the Law Library in order ensure fair access to Study Carrels, and to maintain a suitable environment for research and study.

Availability:

  • Study Carrels are available on a first-come, first-served basis to Seton Hall Law students, faculty & staff.  Exceptions at the discretion of the Circulation Supervisor or a Reference Librarian.
  • Study Carrels are available for use during Law Library open hours.   

Usage:

  • Library and personal materials may not be "saved" on Study Carrels.
  • Belongings left in a Study Carrel overnight, will be removed.  Confiscated belongings will be held at the Circulation Desk and can be collected during open hours.  
  • Appliances are not permitted and will be removed immediately.
  • The Law Library is not responsible for items left in Study Carrels.

Save Slips:

  • Seton Hall Law School student journal members may be issued temporary "save" slips at the discretion of the Circulation Supervisor or a Reference Librarian. "Save" slips are available for 1 month, and may be used to leave a maximum of ten library volumes at a study Carrel.
