Getting Started

1. Review your website: http://scholarship.shu.edu/law/.  Note any policy changes, e-mail changes, or text changes you would like to make.  The Library is happy to make these for you.  We are also happy to supply an account and training for you to make the changes.

2. Please send your new Masthead to lawlibdigital@shu.edu.

The Law School uses Digital Commons as a publishing platform for our journals.  Many Law Schools use Digital Commons for their publishing platform.  

Benefits of Digital Commons:

1. Easy to publish (the library staff does the uploading)

2. Statistics on article downloads.

3. Highly ranked in Google Scholar.

This is a paid resource and Documentation and Training Materials require a login.  Please contact Amber Cain to create an account.

Perma.cc 

  • Create permenant links to scholarly works so your citations never disapear.
  • Powered by libraries at major law schools.
  • Once you list a link in perma you wlll be given a small Perma URL to cite.

  1. How do I get download Statistics?
    •   You need an account for statistics, please contact Amber Cain. Reports are available for
      • Hits: How often people have browsed the metadata page for each article, with or without downloading.
      • Downloads:  Number of downloads by article in a specified date range.  The report is complete for the journal requested.
      • Referrers:  What page are people viewing your content from (for example google.com, linkedin.com, law.edu.edu).
      • Location:  Where your traffic is coming from.
