Library services to support Seton Hall Law Faculty research & curriculum

Acquisitions

We are always interested in hearing what materials are needed to support your research. Purchasing these will help you, and will strengthen our collection. Contact LawLibRef@shu.edu or Christy Smith to make a suggestion for the library collection.

Document Delivery

Need to have an article or library book delivered to you?  Send a request to LawLibRef@shu.edu

The Law Library will place requested books and other items in your faculty mailbox. Articles will be sent by email as attached pdfs unless you specifically request a print version. The Law Library delivers requested materials and regularly routed material to faculty mailboxes daily,.

InterLibrary Loan Services

Sometimes you might need materials that the Rodino library does not own.  You can use Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to request that we borrow the item from another library!   You will receive an e-mail when the item is received: books will be available for pick-up at the Service Desk, and articles will be emailed to you.  Turnaround time from submitting the request to receiving the item can range from one day to two weeks.

1. When you encounter an item we do not own when searching the Catalog,  you can click on the "Request item" button directly from the record! The information we need when requesting the item will be automatically populated in the request.

2. If you cannot find the item in the Catalog, submit your ILL requests to LawLibIll@shu.edu with the following information

  • Book:  Title, Author, Edition, Date, Chapters or pages needed if entire book not needed
  • Article: Title, Author, Journal name and citation, year
  • Other Items: As much information as you have to help us locate the item

Faculty Office Copies

We currently do not purchase materials for the personal or exclusive use of faculty members or students. Requested materials will be purchased if approved, and the materials will be checked out and routed to the requestor.  Please note, these materials are subject to recall by other patrons.
